It is estimated that two million Russian children have been abandoned. As of 2005 there were 700,000 orphans living in Orphanages, Only 8,000 of those children will be adopted each year. 15,000 will "graduate" each year from the orphanages, yet only 10% will become functional members of society. Another 10% will commit suicide their very first year out of the orphanage. In fact the life expectancy of a Russian Orphan is 30 years old. Roughly half of the girls who "graduate" from orphanages will become prostitutes.
